The project aims to advance modern, inclusive, and evidence-based models of support for people who stutter, with particular emphasis on increasing social participation, communication well-being, and access to contemporary therapeutic approaches. The initiative responds to current challenges related to stigma, social exclusion, and the limited availability of comprehensive support systems for people experiencing communication challenges across the Visegrad region.
As part of the project, the partners implement and promote the CARE Model (Communication, Advocacy, Resiliency, Education), developed by the Arthur M. Blank Center for Stuttering Education and Research at the University of Texas at Austin. The CARE Model represents an innovative approach to stuttering intervention, focusing not only on speech fluency, but also on strengthening communication competence, self-advocacy, resilience, and the active participation of people who stutter in social and professional life.
The project supports the exchange of knowledge and experience among partner organizations, the development of regional expert cooperation, and the dissemination of good therapeutic practices aligned with international standards in stuttering support. Through the involvement of partners from the Visegrad countries and Ukraine, the initiative contributes to strengthening regional cooperation and promoting more accessible and inclusive support systems in the fields of speech-language therapy and communication health.
